CBS Corporation (NYSE:CBS) has released the first trailer for its upcoming Supergirl TV show.

The first trailer for the Supergirl TV series gives viewers an insight into Kara Zor-El’s origins. It shows her leaving Krypton, her and Superman’s home planet, and her daily life. After an incident forces her to save a plane from crashing, she takes on the role of the heroine.

Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen and Chyler Leigh as Kara’s sister Alex Danvers. The series focuses on a 24-year-old Kara and has writers and directors working on it from Flash and Arrow.

The Supergirl TV series is set to air on CBS in the Fall.
