Comcast Corporation’s (NASDAQ:CMCSA) Universal Parks & Resorts has signed a deal for theme park rides based on Nintendo Co., Ltd (ADR)’s (OTCMKTS:NTDOY) properties.

universal-nintendo-cmcsa-ntdoyUniversal and Nintendo will be working together to create park concepts that will help visitors experience the gaming company’s classic characters in new ways. The two didn’t announce when the project would be open to the public, or what characters and worlds would be included in it.

Universal and Nintendo are likely going to focus on some of the video game creator’s more popular characters. This means that fans may see theme park rides and attractions based on the Mario, Zelda, Metroid and other games. It’s also possible that Splatoon, a new IP from Nintendo, could get its own attraction. However, nothing specific has been announced.

While exact rides for the Universal park are unknown, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a go kart racing attraction based on Nintendo’s Mario Kart series. It’ll be interesting for fans to see what worlds, or pieces of them, make it into the park, such as Hyrule, Princess Peach’s Castle or Samus’ gunship.
