Tesla (TSLA) has released a video of its new “Snakebot” car charger.
A video of the Tesla Snakebot was shared on Twitter (TWTR) via the electric car manufacturer’s official account. The video lasts for 37 seconds and it shows the weird new device navigating its way to the charging dock located on a Model S.
According to the Tesla Tweet, the Snakebot being shown off in the video is only a prototype. Despite being a prototype, the charger was able to easily adjust itself to reach the Model S, even if it was a bit slow to do so. The company hasn’t announced when customers can expect to see the device at charging stations.
The Snakebot charger prototype shown off in the new video is likely the same one that Tesla CEO Elon Musk Tweeted about in late 2014. At the time, he only said that it would come out of charging stations like a snake to charge the company’s electric cars.
