McDonald’s estimates that the changes required so that its franchisees can start serving breakfast all day will cost anywhere from $500 to $5,000 per store. The fast-food company said that it’s willing to help pay for those costs. The company said that all-day breakfast is probably the “number one request” that it gets from customers, reports CNNMoney.

McDonald’s has actually been testing all-day breakfast at certain locations since March. The fast-food chain previously told franchisees that they could expect it to officially make the change in October. This change is part of the company’s effort to take on other chains that are starting to focus more on breakfast, CNNMoney notes.

One challenge that many McDonald’s locations will likely face with the switch is limited grill space. The above mentioned cost to get stores ready for the change may be used to expand the number of grills a store has so that it can serve breakfast alongside the chain’s other meals.
