Amazon (AMZNexpanded its one-hour delivery service through Amazon Prime Now to the Twin Cities on Thursday.

amazon-prime-twin-cities-amznThe Amazon Prime Now one-hour delivery service is available in select areas of Minneapolis and St. Paul. It also is available in certain areas around the Twin Cities. It allows customers to order a variety of grocery and other small products and have them shipped to them in as little as one hour, reports Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Amazon Prime Now customers will have to make their orders through the Prime Now app. One-hour deliveries cost $7.99 and two-hour deliveries are free. The service doesn’t include shipping of fresh produce. Amazon has a separate service for that, but it hasn’t made its way to the Twin Cities yet, Minneapolis Star Tribune notes.

Pioneer Press, a local newspaper in the Twin Cities, tested the Amazon Prime Now service on its first day. The publication placed a free two-hour delivery, but it showed up 55 minutes late. Amazon said this was due to high demand on the service’s first day.
