Domino’s (DPZ) has revealed a new pizza delivery vehicle that has its own oven.

domino's-dpzThe new Domino’s pizza delivery vehicles is able to hold 80 boxes for delivery and can keep them warm the whole trip. The company said this is the next step in delivery and not a gimmick. It said the vehicles will take delivery to “a new level of efficiency and quality.” The new vehicle is called the DXP, reports Fortune.

The Domino’s DXP is certainly a nice upgrade, but it also costs a pretty penny. The vehicle will set franchisees back anywhere from $20,000 to $25,000. This is about double the cost of the normal branded delivery car, which costs $12,000. The new delivery vehicles will be available in Boston, Seattle, Detroit, and San Diego first, but will be added to more areas over the next three months, Fortune notes.

“I’m a pizza geek. This is an opportunity for us to have a company car. Why wouldn’t I invest in this,” Dave Ceserini, a franchisee with three Domino’s locations that bought three DXP, told The Detroit News.
