Elon Musk’s company continues to make strides in the development of hybrid and electric vehicle as the automotive industry moves towards helping make transportation more environmentally friendly.
Here are five Tesla Model S updates to know:
- The first thing that pops out is the car’s new look–it has a fascia appearance with adaptive LED headlights.
- The interior is also improved compared to its predecessor, featuring a cabin air filtration system capable of filtering out “99.97%” of exhaust pollution, bacteria and other allergens.
- The new Model S comes equipped with a 48-amp charger standard, up from 40 amps. This means faster charging when you hook up the vehicle to higher-amp outlets.
- The car follows in the Model X’s and Model 3’s footsteps by omitting a front grille for the sake of improved aerodynamics, and perhaps a sleeker facade.
- Perhaps the most captivating element of the new Model S is the fact that it offers “bioweapon defense mode,” according to the the company’s Design Studio (but not the vehicle’s marketing page).
The changes are effective immediately and are already live on Tesla’s website.
TSLA stock is down 1.2% Tuesday.
