The company previously released security patches to protect the media player. However, Apple is no longer keeping up maintenance on QuickTime following the discovery of a security vulnerability on the Windows version of the app.

The tech giant added that there is no remedy left for the video player and all users should uninstall it as soon as possible. Although there are no attacks in existence to anyone’s knowledge, the vulnerability is real and uninstalling Quicktime will avoid you any hassle.

Apple hasn’t updated the app for Windows since January.

AAPL stock is down 2% Friday. MSFT stock is up 0.5%.
