Beats: Apple (AAPL) is likely planning to launch new Beats headphones alongside the iPhone 7, reports 9to5Mac. An email that is believed to have been sent out in error mentions the new headphones. It was sent by Beats to some journalists and also includes mention of the Sept. 7 event for the iPhone 7. French website igen.fr posted an image of the email, but had to take it down due to a request by Beats. This would seem to indicate that the leaked email is real and that new Beats headphones will be announced next week.

Apps: Apple has announced that it will be cleaning up the App Store. The company said that it will be starting a process of “evaluating apps, removing apps that no longer function as intended, don’t follow current review guidelines, or are outdated.” AAPL said that the reason for this is that it wants the App Store to be easier for customers to navigate. The process will start on Sept. 7. The company has also released a FAQ for developers to help them through the process.

Account: Apple has started updating its Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) account, MacRumors notes. The account has been sitting dormant for five years since the company created it in September 2011. However, recent updates include a new logo and background. The background that was added to the account is the same teaser image for the Sept. 7 event that was sent to publications. This could mean that the tech company will start using the account to promote the event.
