JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ:JBLU) has apologized after it erroneously sent kids to the wrong cities.

JetBlue said that two children had been mixed up and sent to the wrong cities. Both of the kids were five years old and were coming to the United States from Santiago, Dominican Republic. Their passports somehow got switched during the process.

One of the kids ended up in New York JFK and the other in Boston. However, a mix up resulted in them being sent to the wrong cities. JetBlue worked to fix the error as soon as it was discovered, but it still took about three hours to get the missing kids home.

Maribel Martinez, the mother of one of the kids, has contacted her lawyer about the matter. The lawyer, Sanford Rubenstein, is requesting an investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration into JetBlue. He also said that “appropriate legal action,” will be taken by Martinez, reports NBC News.

JetBlue worked with the two families affected by the mistake. It gave them both refunds for the flights. The airline company has also given them both credit that can be used for future travels with it. It also told reporters that it will be reviewing how it handles unaccompanied minors on its flights.

Martinez said that she won’t be using the credit given to her by JetBlue. She said she won’t be flying with the airline again. The credit awarded to her was $2,100.

“JetBlue investigating itself doesn’t accomplish much, but we hope at least they can take some internal measures to change whatever procedures they have,” Rubenstein told CBS News.
