The feature to endorse presidential candidates on Facebook was only recently added. Users can follow these steps, which are the same for desktop and mobile devices, to show their support.

  1. Go to the political figure’s Facebook page and select the “Endorsements” tab. It will be on the side bar to the left.
  2. After doing this, the page will change and there will be a sidebar that pops up on the right. Included in this in a blue “Endorse” button.
  3. Clicking the Endorse button will prompt the user to endorse the political figure of their choosing with a post.
  4. After users decide what they want to say in their endorsement post, they can choose to submit it.
  5. Voila! You just gave a political figure your endorsement.

Facebook users that choose to endorse a presidential candidate, or any other political figure, can select who gets to see their endorsement. Political figures, including Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, can choose to add public endorsements to their page. To avoid this, users can make the endorsement visible to just friends or themselves.

The new Endorsements tab on Facebook also includes a “Friends Endorsements” section. This will let users easily see how many of their friends have shown support for the different candidates. The page also lists the government office that the political figure is running for.
