The new Wolverine film Logan has an official trailer out.
The film is another X-Men story starring Hugh Jackman as the protagonist of the school of superhuman mutants. It is set in the future where Logan and Professor Charles Xavier lose the X-Men and a corporation tries to destroy the world.
Logan is a shell of what he used to be as his healing abilities start to wane, while Xavier is coping with a declining mental health due to Alzheimer’s. Naturally, Wolverine is entrusted to defeat Nathaniel Essex, the man behind the evil plan.
The Marvel title appears to be similar to what superhero look like nowadays with a certain degree of grit. It is a heartbreaking and sentimental trailer with Johnny Cash’s “Hurt” in the background.
A voiceover asks Logan what he’s done, noting that mutants have scattered away from the public eye. Wolverine is full of scars and Xavier is seen suffering in a bed.
Logan meets his female counterpart, a young woman with similar powers as him. The 20th Century Fox trailer is action-packed, including a car chase in an apocalyptic scenario and a voice.
The voice says “Logan… you still have time.” Boyd Molbrook, Doris Morgado, Patrick Stewart, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Stephen Merchant are among the co-stars in the film, which is being directed by James Mangold.
