Boeing (BA), General Mills (GIS), Microsoft (MSFT), and Nike (NKE) were among the widely-held stocks upgraded by Louis Navellier in his latest fundamental stock analysis on March 1, 2010.
Boeing (BA) remains a strong candidate for a Department of Defense contract to supply the U.S. with nearly 200 new tanker aircraft, and investors are highly anticipating BA’s bid on the project. Boeing was upgraded from “hold” to “buy” in Portfolio Grader this week as a result.
General Mills (GIS) announced in late February that it expects to triple sales in China over the next five years as it focuses on international opportunities. Investors have been bidding up the stock on this plan. General Mills was upgraded to “strong buy” from “buy” in Portfolio Grader on Monday morning.
Mircosoft (MSFT) raised eyebrows last week with a patent cross-licensing deal with Amazon.com (AMZN) in a move that some think may tie the success of the e-reader to MSFT. Microsoft was upgraded to “strong buy” from “buy” in Portfolio Grader on Monday morning.
Nike (NKE) opened the week with a new 52-week high, and is benefiting from the run-up to the World Cup this summer with its strong advertising partnerships. Nike was upgraded from “hold” to “buy” in Portfolio Grader this week as a result.
Other notable companies upgraded this Monday include drug companies Merck (MRK), GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Pfizer (PFE).
