Investors are always anxious to see that companies Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE: BRK.B) is holding.  If the “Oracle of Omaha” places high value in a company’s stock, investors want to know about it.  Likewise, if Berkshire Hathaway decreases its position in a company, the news is sought after.

Here are companies that Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway have either raised or lowered their position in:

Bank of New York Mellon Corp. (NYSE: BK) is a new position at nearly 2 million shares.

Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ: CMCSA) is a lower position and has been almost entirely eliminated as the report lists only 186,897 shares down from 12 million before.

Fiserv, Inc. (NASDAQ: FISV) is also a lower position at 3.9 million shares, down from a previously new position of 4.4 million shares.

Buffett listed no shares of Carmax Inc. (NYSE: KMX), which had been 7.7 million shares. Consider Carmax a sold position.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (NYSE: GS) is not listed.  The word is out that Goldman Sachs has not been able to pay Buffett back due to rules governing TARP banks and the debt repayments or dividend payments.

Ingersoll-Rand (NYSE: IR) at 636,600 shares, is down again. Berkshire previously held over 5.6 million, and held 7.78 million over a year ago.

Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) is a higher position listed as over 42.6 million shares; that is another increase in J&J even though it remains under its peak of 62 million.

Moody’s Corp. (NYSE: MCO) is a lower position again at 28.9 million shares; down from 30.8 million earlier. MCO has been decreased several times.
Nalco Holding (NYSE: NLC) 6.1 million shares; down from a prior holding of 9.2 million shares.

Nike Inc. (NYSE: NKE) is a decreased position of 3,642,929 shares; down from 7.641 million.

Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG) is an increased position at over 76.7 million shares. PG was at 70.1 million shares last quarter and over 78.3 million a quarter before that.  That is still well under the 87.5 million and 96.3 million in previous quarters.

Home Depot Inc. (NYSE: HD) has been eliminated; previous holdings showed 2.8 million.

Republic Services Inc. (NYSE: RSG) has been eliminated after having been 10.8 million.

NRG Energy Inc. (NYSE: NRG) has been eliminated as it was 6 million shares before.

Iron Mountain (NYSE: IRM) had been increasing in the prior quarters but has been eliminated.  IRM is not listed as a holding any longer versus 8 million before.

Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE: WFC) is an increased position to 336.4 million shares after about 325 million a quarter ago. The stock had been raised before in prior quarters.
