The Amazon Underground app is basically an app store full of free apps. This includes several tools, such as OfficeSuite Professional 8 and PhotoSuite 4, and games, including Goat Simulator and Frozen Free Fall, for free.

Amazon Underground is able to offer what would typically be paid apps, or apps that include in-app purchases, for free due to a new business model. This business model tracks how long a person uses an app and Amazon pays the developer a fee based on that. This means that the apps are completely free to the user.

Amazon claims that the Amazon Underground app store will continue to get more features as it looks to expand the service. Due to the nature of the app, it can’t be downloaded from Google’s (GOOG,GOOGL) app store. Instead, interested smartphone owners will have to use the Amazon app to download it. The app is only available on Android devices.
