Facebook (FB) is reportedly planning to add a new app called “Facebook Notify” to its ever-growing list of apps next week.
Facebook Notify will allow users to see instant updates to news stories from a variety of different publishers. This will include video, digital and print news sources. The app is likely Facebook’s attempt to attract more users to its service and compete with Twitter (TWTR), reports Financial Times.

Facebook has been pushing mobile lately by updating its own app and releasing more separate apps. The social media company is reportedly working on a virtual reality app and its Facebook Messenger app has been updated so that users no longer need an account with the company’s main site.
