The 27-year-old boxer stated on Tuesday that this was the end of the road for him. McGregor backtracked on Thursday and ensured his fans that he’s still going strong.

The fighter issued a lengthy message on Facebook, explaining why the last few months of his life have caused him hardship.

Following the March defeat against Nate Diaz, McGregor took a step back from the UFC limelight and considered calling it quits. He has now clarified that he feels as if the promotional aspect of the sport has overtaken his career.

“There comes a time when you need to stop handing out flyers and get back to the damn shop,” McGregor wrote. “50 world tours, 200 press conferences, 1 million interviews, 2 million photo shoots, and at the end of it all I’m left looking down the barrel of a lens, staring defeat in the face, thinking of nothing but my incorrect fight preparation.”

He added that he will go back to focusing on fighting and come back stronger than ever.
