F. Scott Fitzgerald’s legacy will take another step forward as an unpublished collection of stories will hit shelves soon.

He cemented his place in literary lore with The Great Gatsby, which foretold the tragedy that struck in his later years and led to his death. Now, a new publication called I’d Die For You will be launched in April 2017 to give us further insight into the artistic genius’ mind.

Scribner will publish the collection, which is being launched now due to the fact that Fitzgerald believed its contents were ahead of their time. Releasing such stories in the 1930s would have been subject to much editing and sanitation as he writes in a manner that attempts to accurately portray the way young people spoke at the time.

The writer’s name brings bittersweet emotions to everyone’s heart as Gatsby and his own life are beautiful existences that resulted in tragedy, perhaps serving as cautionary tales. Fitzgerald drank himself to death in 1940 while only reaching his early 40s.

His wife Zelda spent her last days in a mental asylum as she herself had substance abuse problems and lived the reckless celebrity lifestyle that was associated with writers and artists from the Roaring Twenties.

The collection will shed more light into the troubles that kept Fitzgerald up at night, and it is believed that many of these were dedicated to his wife as he was a hopeless romantic.
