Darden Restaurants, Inc. (NYSE:DRI) chain Olive Garden will sell 21,000 Never Ending Pasta Passes in 2016.
The Olive Garden Never Ending Pasta Passes will go on sale Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. They will be available for one hour and can be purchased through the company’s website. Each of the passes will cost $100.
Pasta lovers that miss their chance to buy a Never Ending Pasta Pass in the initial sale on Sept. 15 still have a chance. Olive Garden will be selling additional passes through eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) right after the first sale. This will be part of a fundraising effort with Feeding America. Proceeds from the auction will go to the charity. The restaurant chain will also be donating a minimum of $21,000 to Feeding America.
Those that get their hands on one of Olive Garden’s Never Ending Pasta Passes will only be able to use it for a limited amount of time. The promotion for using the passes will run from Oct. 3 through Nov. 20 this year.
Customers that use a Never Ending Pasta Pass will be able to get unlimited pasta, sauces, toppings, soups or salads, and breadsticks. They will also be able to pick from their choice of sodas from The Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO). Customers without an unlimited pasta pass can still get unlimited pasta during the promotion, but it will cost them $9.99 per visit.
The number of Never Ending Pasta Passes that Olive Garden is selling this year has been expanded from last year. It previously only offered 2,00 passes. However, there are also some differences. This year’s passes can only be used when dining in. The passes sold last year allowed customers to take up to two meals home per day.
