Emma Morano has revealed the secret to her longevity as the world’s oldest woman. She claims that she has been eating three raw eggs for breakfast since she was a teenager, but recently cut that back to two raw eggs every morning. She chose to do so after a doctor told her it would help fend off anemia.

The world’s oldest woman also has another secret to living a long life: staying single. According to Morano, she has been single since an unhappy marriage led to separation in 1938. She still had other men seeking relationships with her after this, but chose to remain on her own.

Emma Morano celebrated her birthday with friends and family on Tuesday. Many media outlets also showed up for the special day. Her doctor made an appearance and he said she is very fit. He believes that part of her longevity comes from living with a loving family, and not in a nursing home, reports The New York Times.

Morano’s title as the world’s oldest woman may also have something to do with her genetics. Her mother died at the age of 91

. Many of her sisters have also lived long enough to pass 100 years of life.

Emma Morano is also set to be the subject of a play. The writers of the play told Time that it “represents the feminine courage which rebelled against domestic violence.”
