Wynn Resorts, Limited (NASDAQ:WYNN) is adding Amazon.com, Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AMZN) Echo to Wynn Las Vegas hotel rooms.
The move will have Wynn Resorts, Limited adding an Amazon Echo speaker to each of the 4,748 hotel rooms at Wynn Las Vegas. This will allow customers staying in those rooms to control various devices in them with just their voice.
The first hotel rooms at the Wynn Las Vegas location to get Amazon Echo speakers will be suites. The hotel chain plans to continue adding the Alexa powered devices to other rooms over time. It is expecting to have an Echo device in all hotel rooms at the location by Summer 2017.
The plans for Wynn Las Vegas also include expanding the Amazon Echo’s features over time. To start with, the device will just control features in the room. However, Wynn Resorts, Limited wants to also get personal assistant features working for customers as well.
Wynn Resorts, Limited’s decision to add an Amazon Echo speaker to every Wynn Las Vegas hotel room is a first. No other hotel company has announced plans to add the devices to every room at one of its locations.
