Amazon (AMZN) has another fight over e-book prices on its hands.

amazon-amzn-e-book-pricesGerman authors have signed an open letter against Amazon’s practices over its fight with Swedish publisher Bonnier on e-book prices. Over 1,00 author have signed the open letter, which claims that the online retailer removes authors under the publisher from recommend reading lists and incorrectly lists book availability, reports The New York Times.

The situation between Amazon and Bonnier is similar to its current feud with Hachette. One major difference though is that publishers were asking authors not to speak out about the matter for fear of further complicating matters. German laws protect authors from having their books heavily discounted, NYT notes.

Amazon’s war with Hachette is also over e-book prices. The online retailer argues that more money would be made if e-book prices were lowered. It claims this would happen because more people would be willing to buy e-books at lower prices. The company even went so far as to try and go past the publisher with an offer made directly to authors.
