Marc Andreessen Quits eBay Board

Marc Andreessen is stepping down from his role as a member of eBay‘s (EBAY) board of directors.

Marc AndreessenHe made the announcement a few weeks after the company announced that PayPal is being split into two companies. Marc Andreessen served on eBay’s board for six years.

Billionaire investor Carl Icahn urged him to resign back in February, noting that Andreessen has invested in rivals of eBay and PayPal in the past.

The former eBay director appears to be leaving the company in good terms, tweeting that he is proud of what he’s accomplished with eBay over the years.

I wish eBay, and both of its successor companies, all the best in the years to come & will seek to continue to help as much as I can,” read one of his tweets.

EBAY stock is up about 2.3% Monday afternoon.
