Pope Francis has back the Catholic Church’s stance against birth control.

He went to the Philippines — the most Catholic country in Asia — to defend the Church’s ban on artificial contraception. Pope Francis said families should be “sanctuaries of respect for life.”

However, he also recognizes that avoiding birth control will be difficult for some and he asked that we be forgiving and understanding for certain cases.

In his visit, the Pope also spoke out

against the Philippines’ corrupt government and the inequality that exists in the nation.
