Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) Apple Watch is estimated to have sold roughly 1 million in preorders.
Estimates of Apple Watch preorder sales come from Slice Intelligence, a data research firm. The company checked e-receipts to get it’s estimate. According to the data, many users preordered the Sport edition of the wearable device, which starts at $349, reports Forbes.
Exact details on how many Apple Watches sold through preorders are unknown due to how the company is reporting sales. Apple is choosing to list the Apple Watch in its “other products” category, which includes iPods and Apple TVs, for quarterly earnings. However, it is known that preorders of the device sold out, Forbes notes.
Slice also released estimates for what color bands buyers of the Apple Watch Sport edition bought. These estimates have 64% of customers buying the Black Sport Band, 22% choosing the White Sports Band and the rest being split between the Pink, Green and Blue Sport Bands, reports ZDNet.
AAPL shares were up slightly as of Monday morning.
