The News Feed updates that Facebook has released are based on feedback from the platforms’ users. The update will include three major changes to News Feeds.

Here are the changes Facebook has made to users’ News Feeds.

  • Multiple Posts — Facebook is making it so that users without much content to look at are more likely to see multiple posts from a single source.
  • Interaction — The second update from Facebook makes it so that content from sources that users interact with more will be more likely to show up at the top of their News Feeds. This is to help friends on the service keep track of each other easier.
  • Likes and Comments — Facebook is changing the News Feed up so that users are less likely to see when their friends like or comment on an article or story.

Facebook notes that these updates could cause some content publishers to see their posts reaching less users.

Facebook has been making several changes to News Feed over the last few months. This includes adding Amber Alerts, reducing hoaxes and showing users more relevant information.
