Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) has launched a Messenger app for the web.

FB

The social media site released a stand-alone Facebook Messenger app for mobile last year. Now, there’s messenger.com for those who want to chat without Timeline and the rest of the Facebook’s distractions.

The online app is simple–it has two buttons on the top right that lets you add people to your conversation and see who’s online. The top left has a settings button and a ‘Compose’ button that lets you type the name of a person or group to access that chat.

You can add pictures, emoticons and thumbs up to conversations the same way you can on Facebook. Messenger.com is simple, effective and to the point.

FB stock is down 0.2% Thursday.
