Amazon (AMZN) has launched a new online store to take on Pinterest.
The new online store is called Amazon Stream and it lines items up in a similar manner to Pinterest. This has the items on the store appearing as rows of squares for customers to view. The tagline for the store is “Beautiful things, updated daily”.
The focus of Amazon Stream seems to be fashion. This includes jewelry clothes and other items for both men and women. Other items that are listed on the store are craft items and home appliances. Stream doesn’t currently allow customers to search for items specifically.
Another feature of Amazon Stream is “Your Saves”. This option allows customers to save items into a favorites list to look at later. It also saves them to their normal wishlist on Amazon. If customers see an item they like on Stream, they can click on the “See buying details” button to be taken to its Amazon page and buy it.
