Elvis Week: Graceland Online Auction to Feature 170+ Items

This week is Elvis Week, a yearly event in remembrance of the the singer’s death on August 16, 1977, and there’s an auction with a lot of memorabilia on sale.

The Elvis auction takes place on Thursday afternoon and it includes 174 items from the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. The event is being held at Graceland, which is Presley’s home located in Memphis, Tennessee. Bids were accepted online for weeks before the auction starts, reports the Associated Press.

The Elvis Week auction includes various artifacts from the singer’s career. Examples of such are a pendant Presley gave Sammy Davis Jr., a pair of 1956 Elvis Presley Enterprises sneakers, one of the “Starburst” suits he wore in Las Vegas and more, the Associated Press notes.

The Elvis auction being held today starts at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. There are a couple of ways that fans can participate in the auction. The first is by actually showing up at Graceland and the secnd is by bidding on items via eBay (EBAY), reports People Magazine.
