Apple (AAPL) iOS 9 is almost here and users will notice some changes from iOS 8.

Apple iOS 9 will include several changes to the operating system. Most of these changes will have to do with increasing performance over the previous version of the mobile operating system. However, there are still some new features being added in this update.

Here are some of the things that users can expect when Apple iOS 9 is released.

• It will include the tech company’s new News app.
• The Notes app has been updated with new features and will update saved notes across all devices.
• Apple Maps is being updated with Transit and Nearby views.
• Owners of select iPad models will be able to use the new Slide Over, Split View, and Picture in Picture features.
• Siri has been upgraded to produce results faster and better predict what a user is searching for.
• The update will require 1.3GB of free space.
• Apple claims that the iOS 9 update will make devices run faster and improve battery life.
• Apple ID has been updated to offer better protection for a device’s passcode.
