Steam: Apple (AAPL) Mac owners that bought a Steam Link and Steam controller are getting a gift from Valve, reports AppleInsider. Mac users that bough the Steam Link and Steam controller have reported that the devices don’t work. Valve has acknowledged that there is a problem and said that it will fix the issues with software updates. It’s also giving all Mac customers that bought the devices the Valve Complete Pack for free. The pack typically costs $100 and includes every game made by Valve. Unhappy customers can return the Steam Link and Steam controller and are still able to keep the free games.

Apps: Apple has removed more than 250 apps from the App Store that can collect personal data, MacRumors notes. An advertising SDK called Youmi was discovered that is able to track users information through the affected apps. The SDK originates from China and is able to track a user’s Apple ID email address. The information was gathered from private APIs and was sent through Youmi to China. The affected apps have been downloade more than 1 million times and apps for Google (GOOG,GOOGL) Android were also found to have the ad SDK in them.

Staingate: Apple has started offering free repairs to MacBook owners affected by Staingate, reports 9to5Mac. The tech company hasn’t officially announced that it’s repariing MacBooks affected by Staingate, which is when the anti-reflective display coating leaves marks on screens, but several users on the Staingate Facebook (FB) page have reported having theirs fixed. Some users have reported having their MacBooks fixed without AppleCare. MacBook owners that have this problem can try taking their devices to an Apple Store for repair.
