apple-rumors-panic-mode-iphone-aaplFolders: Apple (AAPL) TV supports a folder system for its main menu, reports AppleInsider. The discovery that the TV could support folders was made by Troughton-Smith. The folders appear to work in a similar manner to those that are found on iOS devices. It’s unknown what exactly the company has planned for these folders. Troughton-Smith had to mess with code a little bit to get access to the folders. It’s unknown if an update to tvOS will make these folders easily available to TV owners.

Display: Apple has reportedly ordered LCD display drivers from Synaptics (SYNA), MacRumors notes. This means that it’s possible the company’s own development team is falling behind in its touch and display driver integration chip efforts. The order placed with Synaptics is said to be for use in the company’s rumored iPhone 7. This wouldn’t be the first time that the tech company has had to hire external help to finish efforts with its touchscreen. Synaptics is familiar with smartphones and has worked with a variety of developers for mobile devices.

Panic: Apple has filed a patent that would allow users to put their smartphones in a “Panic Mode“, reports 9to5Mac. The new patent details a system that would allow users to set up their devices to enter this Panic Mode when a certain fingerprint is scanned by Touch ID. This new mode could offer users a variety of different options. One listed would allow them to put their device into a lock down that wouldn’t allow others access to their personal data. Another mentioned mode would turn on the device’s camera and microphone and send information authorities. The different Panic Modes could be accessed with different fingerprints.
