The new Tesla Model X bought by Ford previously belonged to a coin dealer in California that bought it as part of the company’s customer-referral promotion. The money spent on the car comes in at $55,000 more than its normal retail price.

The Tesla Model X bought by Ford was part of the Founder Series, of which only 100 were made. Ford’s is the 64th Model X to be made as part of the limited edition series. Other automakers, such as General Motors Company (GM) and Toyota Motor Corp (ADR) (TM), are also believed to have been early buyers of the Model X, reports Bloomberg.

Ford is likely interested in the Tesla Model X to help fuel its own electric car plans. The car company announced at International CES 2016 in January that it intends to introduce 13 electric cars in the next four years.
