Hulu, a joint-venture of Walt Disney Co (DIS), Twenty-First Century Fox Inc (FOX,FOXA) and Comcast Corporation (CMCSA), is planning an online TV streaming package.
The Hulu TV streaming package was mentioned by unnamed sources speaking with The Wall Street Journal. These sources claim that the service would stream feeds of several TV channels to those willing to pay a subscription fee.
Sources claim that popular channels owned by Disney and Twenty-First Century Fox will show up as part of the package, but Comcast hasn’t agreed to offer any of its networks via the online streaming service. It’s believed the service will launch during the first quarter of 2017.
AT&T Inc. (T) announced its own online TV streaming service earlier this year with DirecTV. The service doesn’t require a normal DirecTV subscription and still provides much of the same content to mobile users.
