Here are your Apple Rumors for today:

Apple Rumors, iOS 10 Beta, Encrypted Kernal, AAPLBeta: Apple’s (AAPL) first beta version of iOS 10 for developers doesn’t have an encrypted kernel, reports MacRumors. This is a change from previous versions of iOS that have been released and may lead to more potential security flaws in the future. However, it’s also possible that this could allow for more bug reports to be sent in to AAPL during the developer beta. It’s unknown if the tech company did this on purpose or not.

Patent: An investigation into a company suing Apple over patent infringement in iPhone 6 has learned something interesting, AppleInsider notes. The investigation found that the company behind that patent dispute, which is located in China, “barely exists.” The company’s website is no longer active, its offices are empty and the only contact available seems to be a lawyer from its parent company. It’s possible the lawsuit was never meant to be taken seriously, but was instead designed to stir up interest in the company’s own smartphone.

Emoji: More emoji will be coming to iOS devices, reports 9to5Mac. Unicode announced that it has approved of 72 new emoji and Apple will likely add them to its devices with the official release of iOS 10 later this year. While the current beta of iOS 10 doesn’t feature any of the new emoji, it’s possible that later versions will before the final build of the new mobile operating system is released. The emoji are also expected to come to Alphabet Inc’s (GOOG,GOOGL) Google Android devices in Fall.
