Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has started rolling out the Xbox One Summer update.
Those that singed up for the Preview version of the Summer Update for Xbox One will be glad to know that most of the features that appeared there are in the final version. However, this release also includes new features that weren’t available in the Preview version.
Check out this list of the new features that were added to Xbox One with the release of the Summer Update today.
- Background Music — Xbox One players can now listen to background music while playing games with support from many streaming apps coming in the near future.
- Cortana on Xbox One — Cortana, which is Microsoft’s virtual assistant, is available for use in the update with a headset or Kinect.
- Improved Game Collection — The Summer Update includes an improved layout for the Game Collection interface so that it’s easier to navigate.
- Language Region Independence — This new feature lets users choose what language to have their console in, despite their location in the world.
- Xbox and Windows Store Convergence — The two stores are starting to merge together with new ways to search being added to the video game console.
- Facebook Friend Finder — Gamers can now use their Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) friends list to find friends on Xbox Live.
- Improved Sharing on Xbox One — This part of the update makes it easier for gamers to share pictures, videos and other content with the community.
These are the main improvements and new features added to the Xbox One with the Summer Update, but there is more. The company has also released new ways for Windows 10 games and Xbox One communities to work together. New recording options and Windows Game Bar support has also been added.
