DirecTV Now: Pricing and Plans for AT&T Inc.’s New Streaming Service

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) is preparing to introduce its new DirecTV Now streaming service on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016.

DirecTV Now, AT&T Inc., T StockDirecTV Now will offer customers four different plans to choose from when signing up for the service. They are as follows.

  • Live a Little — $35 per month for more than 60 channels.
  • Just Right — $50 per month for over 80 channels.
  • Go Big — $60 per  month for more than 100 channels.
  • Gotta Have It — $70 per month for over 120 channels.

Customers that sign up for DirecTV Now also have the ability to add select channels to their service. This includes HBO and Cinemax channels. The additional channels can be added for an additional fee of $5 per month each.

DirecTV Now pulls its channels straight from the cable company’s satellite service. Customers that want to test the service out can get a free trial for 7 days. There is also a current promotion that allows customers to get the Go Big package for $35 per month. This price will remain the same for as long as the customer has the service, but is subject to “future reasonable programming price increases.”

DirecTV Now will also be available on several different devices when it launches. They include the following.

  • Amazon.com, Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AMZN) Fire TV and Fire TV Stick.
  • Smartphones and tablets running Alphabet Inc’s (NASDAQ:GOOG,GOOGL) Android operating system.
  • Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone, iPad and Apple TV devices.
  • Chromecast on Android at launch.
  • Google Cast-enabled LeEco ecotvs and VIZIO SmartCast Displays.
  • Internet Explorer, Chrome and Safari web browsers.

DirecTV Now is also planning to bring the service to more devices next year. This includes Roku set-top boxes, Amazon Fire Tablets and Smart TVs from several different brands. Support for Chromcast on iOS will also be added in 2017.
