Thursday Apple Rumors: Police Stop Black Market iPhone Shipment

apple-rumors-police-iphone-black-market-aaplOregon: Police in Oregon have stopped a shipment of  Apple (AAPL) iPhones heading for the black market, reports AppleInsider. Police noticed a man that was purchasing a large amount of iPhones with gift cards. When they questioned him, he helped them find other suspects. It’s believed that the gift cards were purchased with stolen credit card numbers. Police were able to discover a large amount of the smartphones that were boxed up and being prepared to be shipped to Hong Kong, where they would be sold on the black market.

Controller:

Game controller maker Hori has released a controller for the Apple TV, 9to5Mac notes. The new controller is called the HoriPad Ultimate and it will set customers back $50. It features two analog sticks, a D-pad, four face buttons, two shoulder buttons and two triggers. The device can be charged with a Lightning cable and can be used for 80 hours before needing recharged. The controller can currently only be bought via the Apple Store.

Free: Celebrate Christmas early with paid iPhone apps that are currently free, reports BGR. Owners of Apple’s iPhone can get their hands on nine paid apps, including editing apps and games, today for free. These apps include PikUp Pro, Agenda: Widget+, Bitpoem, PDF Max 5 Pro, Puzzle Bear, Blendrr and others. The prices for these apps when they aren’t free range from just $1 to $5.
