Warner Bros. is in hot waters with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) over video game reviews that were paid for by the company.
YouTube stars such as PewDiePie were paid anywhere from hundreds of dollars to tens of thousands for releasing a video that said only positive things about Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
.
There were certain stipulations attached to this move, including that YouTubers could not reveal any bugs or glitches they may have found while playing the game.
Some videos failed to have a disclaimer that warned users that the review was paid for by Warner Bros. Other videos included the disclaimer, but you had to click on “Show More” to see it.
