Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT) is planning to hire 100,000 employees for seasonal jobs.

Seasonal Jobs 2017: Target Hiring 100,000 for 2017 Holidays

The Target hiring spree to fill seasonal jobs will have it adding 100,000 employees to its 1,816 stores across the U.S. On top of that, the retailer is also looking to add an additional 4,500 seasonal employees to the work force at its distribution and fulfillment centers.

Target says that it is starting to hire for seasonal jobs today. This means that those looking for work this holiday season can head to its website or one of its stores to apply. The retail company will also be holding a seasonal hiring event next month. This will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Friday, Oct. 13 through Sunday, Oct. 15.

“As always, we will provide our seasonal team members with meaningful opportunities to build and develop skills, and offer great benefits, including a variety of schedules and team member discounts,” Janna Potts, Chief Stores Officer at Target, said in a statement.

The benefits that Target is offering those that take seasonal jobs this year include two sets of discounts. The first is a 10% discount on purchases made at its stores and online. The second is a 20% discount that is available for certain health items. This includes “fruits and veggies, Simply Balanced brand foods and C9 athletic gear.”

Target is hiring more employees for seasonal jobs in 2017 than it did in 2016. Last year’s holiday shopping season saw the retailer add an additional 70,000 seasonal workers to its stores. However, it hired more workers for its distribution and fulfillment centers last year at 7,500.

TGT stock is up 2% as of Wednesday morning.

As of this writing, William White did not hold a position in any of the aforementioned securities.
