Google (NASDAQ:GOOG,NASDAQ:GOOGL) is launching a wireless service called “Fi.”
The Internet service is an attractive offer with reasonable prices. Here are five things to know about it:
- Fi will cost $20 per month, plus an additional $10 for every GB of data used.
- Users will get to talk, text and have Wi-Fi with coverage in 120+ countries.
- The Google wireless service will only be available on Nexus 6 phones.
- It will be run by a software that allows connections to with between Sprint (NYSE:S) and T-Mobile’s (NYSE:TMUS) networks, based on which one has the strongest signal at any given moment.
- Fi will be available in most US cities.
GOOG stock is up 1.15% Wednesday. GOOGL stock is up 1.01%.
