Facebook Messenger Adds ‘Stranger’ Clues for Your ‘Other’ Messages

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is adding a new feature to Facebook Messenger that will help identify people users aren’t friends with.

Facebook Messenger users that find themselves in a conversation with someone they don’t know, or remember, could get a helping hand in the form of clues. These clues are public information from the user’s profile, such as job title or city they live in, reports Tech Times.

The new Facebook Messenger feature will also include public information of people users have on their friends’ list, but have never messaged before. With many users having a huge amount of friends on the social media service, some may not be much different from strangers, reports Android Police.

Since all the information being shared via the new feature is public, users don’t have to worry about their private information being given to strangers. This update is being released for Facebook Messenger on Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG,NASDAQ:GOOGL) Android and Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS, Tech Times notes,
