Macy’s (M) is expanding it same-day delivery to include more cities.
The new Macy’s same-day delivery offerings will include nine additional areas beyond the eight pilot areas from last year. The service will be available in certain areas for products that are ordered from Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s websites, as we ll as their mobile versions.
Customer’s looking to use Macy’s same-day delivery will have to shell out an additional $5 on top on standard ground shipping fees. The deliveries will be made by Deliv, which will also offer a pickup service to return items to Macy’s or Bloomingdale’s stores in select markets.
Areas where Macy’s same-day delivery was already offered as part of last year’s pilot will still have the service. Most new areas will get the option later this month, but some will have to wait until October.

- New York City/Western Long Island — Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s.
- Orange County, Calif. — Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s.
- Philadelphia — Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s.
- Chicago — Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s.
- Houston — Macy’s.
- Los Angeles — Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s.
- Northern New Jersey — Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s.
- San Francisco — Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s.
- San Francisco Bay Area — Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s.
- Seattle — Macy’s.
- Washington, D.C. — Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s.
Macy’s isn’t the only reatiler out there offering same-day delivery to its customers. Amazon (AMZN) Prime members can get free same-day delivery in 14 cities if their orders are over $35. The online retailer is also offering one-and two-hour deliveries in a few select areas. It’s also testing a new system that allows it to deliver items straight to a person’s car.
M shares were up slightly as of Tuesday morning.
