Facebook (FB) probably won’t be making a new phone anytime soon.

David Marcus, the vice president of messaging products at Facebook, said the company wasn’t currently interested in another Facebook phone while at the Code Mobile conference. However, he did say that people are spending 25% of their time on smartphones using one of the company’s apps, reports Cnet.

The first Facebook phone to be released was the HTC First. The device wasn’t all that powerful and it didn’t sell well either. After being available for one month, the smartphone’s price was dropped down to 99 cents, Cnet notes.

Facebook isn’t the only company that has had trouble releasing its own smartphone. The Amazon (AMZN) Fire Phone also met a similar fate. The device saw a horrible launch and was discontinued in September. It’s failure even lead to some layoffs at Amazon’s Lab126 hardware division.
