Thunderbolt 3: Apple’s new MacBook Pro line may not work with early Thunderbolt 3 devices, reports MacRumors. The problem appears to be with Thunderbolt 3 devices that use controller chips from Texas Instruments Incorporated (NASDAQ:TXN). The problem has to do with the use of the first generation of TI USB-C chipset. The second generation of this chipset will work with the new MacBook Pro laptops. This means that some Thunderbolt 3 accessories released before November 2016 may not work with the new computers.

Cellebrite Acquisition: The Indian government is buying the rights to Cellebrite to help it hack smartphones and other mobile devices, AppleInsider notes. Cellebrite is believed to be the same hacking solution that the FBI turned to when trying to break into the iPhone belonging to the San Bernardino shooter. India is hoping that buying these rights will allow it to become the “global hub for cases where law enforcement is unable to break into phones.”

Android to iPhone: As many as 10 million Android users may have switched to the iPhone, reports BGR. This information is based on install numbers for Apple’s Move to iOS app for Alphabet Inc’s (NASDAQ:GOOG,GOOGL) Android. The app currently has between 10 million and 50 million installs on the Google Play Store. Google doesn’t reveal the exact number of installs. The app only works to move information from an Android device to an iOS one.
