Netflix, Inc. (NFLX) Says Netflix Offline Playback Is Here

Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) is allowing Netflix offline playback for users that choose to download TV shows and movies.

Netflix Offline Playback, Netflix, Inc., NFLXThe new Netflix offline playback feature was announced on Wednesday. It makes it so that users can easily watch their favorite shows while on the go. The feature can be accessed by tapping the download button while on the content’s details page.

NFLX says the new Netflix offline playback feature was made to let users watch shows via the service when internet is limited or nonexistent. This includes taking trips on a plane or traveling across the country via other means.

The company notes that many of its original series are currently available for Netflix offline playback. This includes shows such as Stranger ThingsOrange is The New Black, Narcos and more. The video streaming service is also planning to add more content for download over time.

Netflix, Inc. customers can download shows to watch on the go via the service’s mobile app. Netflix offline playback is available on device running Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS and Alphabet Inc’s (NASDAQ:GOOG,GOOGL) Google Android operating systems. Users will need to update their Netflix apps to the newest version to gain access to the download feature.

The new Netflix offline playback feature is also available for all customers. Netflix, Inc. says that there is no extra charge for the feature and that customers of any level have access to it.
