Passengers catching a ride with the company in the United States, Australia and New Zealand can use Pandora from their Uber app to listen to music on the ride. This can be done with drivers that have connected music activated.

The agreement between Pandora and Uber makes it so that passengers can start picking their station before the driver gets to them. Their music will start playing once the ride begins. Passengers can also preview what station the driver is listenting to and what song is playing before they show up.

Passengers of the ride-hailing service can also control the music during the ride. By using the Uber app, passengers can choose to skip songs during the ride. The feature is rolling out over the next few weeks and will only be available for Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS devices. However, it will also be coming to Alphabet Inc’s (NASDAQ:GOOG,GOOGL) Android mobile operating system in the future.

The ability to pick different music while taking an Uber isn’t limited to Pandora. Passengers with a Spotify Premium account can also select music to listen to on their rides. This can include a previously created playlist, or a completely new one crafted just for that trip. This feature works in all areas that Spotify is available.

Uber passengers have a couple of different options for connecting their devices for music listening during a trip. They can use Bluetooth for a wireless connection, or a USB cable for a wired one.
