Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. (NYSE:WEN) has been pushing the slogan “We have the meats!” for a while now.
The fast-food chain is ramping up efforts to have more meat products with new venison sandwiches, that are slated to come to six states. The product is 100% deer meat that comes from free-range, grass-fed dear.
The Arby’s venison sandwich consists pf premium thick-cup top and bottom round venison steaks, along with crispy onions and berry sauce. The item is then served on a toasted roll.
The move is part of the restaurant’s “It’s Meat Season” campaign, honoring the beginning of hunting season. The move allows Arby’s “to continue to set ourselves apart from the competition when it comes to protein,” according to brand president and chief marketing officer Rob Lynch.
He added that other fast-food restaurants do not offer venison products, and deer hunters will be especially fond of this sandwich. 17 restaurants will carry venison sandwiches, including locations in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Tennessee and Georgia.
Pizza Hut, Inc. is looking to boost sales with a temporary tattoo that allows you to order from your phone.
WEN shares dipped 1% Wednesday afternoon.
