Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE:JWN) is opening a new Nordstrom store that won’t carry any merchandise.
Instead of merchandise, the new Nordstrom store will focus on offering services to customers. The following is a list of the services that the location will offer.

- Curbside Pickup
- Trunk Club & Trunk Club Custom
- Nordstrom Gift Card

- On-Site Refreshments
The new Nordstrom store is only a concept and it is set to open on Oct. 3. The company hasn’t said if it will be opening any additional locations like this. However, if the concept store goes well, it is likely that JWN will consider more of the stores.
“As the retail landscape continues to transform at an unprecedented pace, the one thing we know that remains constant is that customers continue to value great service, speed and convenience,” Shea Jensen, Nordstrom Senior Vice President of Customer Experience, said in a statement. “Finding new ways to engage with customers on their terms is more important to us now than ever.”
The new concept store from Nordstrom will be located at 8401 Melrose Place, Los Angeles, Calif. The name of this new concept store is Nordstrom Local. The location will only be 3,000 sq. ft. in size. This is much smaller than the company’s typical stores, which are 140,000 sq. ft. in size.
JWN stock was down 4% as of noon Monday and is down 8% year-to-date.
