TV Makers Spooked by Apple Market Entry: Though Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has not even confirmed that its working on its own branded TV set, rumors that it will release such a product have caused TV manufacturers to seek defensive partnerships, DigiTimes says. Asian TV makers like LG Electronics and TPV Technology are actively seeking technology alliances to bring new “smart” technology to their TV sets. Sources say that Apple’s TV set will feature an advanced user interface, possibly with voice control. Apple recently signed an $800 million agreement with Sharp, which many see as evidence that it may launch its own TV set by the end of the year.

Business Likes Retina Resolution: A report from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners finds that

business adoption of the newest-generation iPad is rising steadily, according to Apple Insider. iPad sales to businesses increased with the debut of the Retina-screen iPad back in March. Among all purchasers of the latest iPad, 21% indicated that they would deploy the tablet for business uses.

Samsung Loses in Court: A federal circuit appeals court rejected two motions from Samsung on Thursday seeking to stay the preliminary injunction granted to Apple that bans sales of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab tablets in the U.S., according to FOSS Patents. With its motions denied, Samsung is unlikely to get the injunction reversed before the case goes to a jury. Legal experts think that Samsung may face better odds appealing the injunction against its Galaxy Nexus smartphone.
